"Before I speak on the food, THE VIBE WAS EVERYTHING. The DJ was serving great tracks and really getting us in the mood for some dancing. Now, there wasn't any dancing happening but it's not because the music wasn't fire! DJ Dougie really did his thing here. Now the food, the selection seemed endless!! We ended up getting white rice, rice and peas, curry goat, oxtails, sweet and sour chicken, cabbage, mac and cheese, plantains, and one of each drink they serve. Everything. Was. Delicious. The serving sizes were generous. It fed us yesterday and today! The goat and oxtails were tender and so flavorful. The lemonade and the fruit punch had a twist, with some ginger. But the pink drink was sweet and tangy. 10/10 would recommend. The seating options are limited, but If you are able to snag on and enjoy the music with the food, it's all worth it!!"

"Gold Star truly offers the best Jamaican food in New York! Every dish I tried was bursting with authentic flavors that took me right back to the island. The jerk chicken was seasoned to perfection, with the right blend of spice and smokiness that defines a true Jamaican jerk. The curry chicken was tender and full of rich, complex flavors, and the stews were hearty and comforting. You can taste the love and tradition in every bite, and it’s clear that quality ingredients and skilled preparation are at the heart of everything they serve. If you're looking for genuine Jamaican cuisine, Gold Star is the spot. Highly recommend trying everything on the menu; you won’t be disappointed!"

"This was the best Jamaican food I've ever had in my life. I've been there numerous times and have never been disappointed. The servers need better customer training, because I saw them being rude to the patrons (myself included) each time. If the food and atmosphere wasn't so phenomenal, I wouldn't travel all the way from long Island to come."

"Fried chicken with half rice & peas, half salad (cabbage with carrot) with curry goat gravy, also a large fruit punch juice. I ordered a side of macaroni salad and OMG it was absolutely amazing. I’ll definitely be back next time in town"

"Food is good. But they don't answer their phone. If you reach them, someone tells you to call back *again* to speak to the manager. So you call back, and again they don't answer the phone."

"The food here tastes amazing! It is hand-down, one of the best places for Jamaican food. There is an extensive menu and everything looks so delicious. I think the meals are reasonably priced and you'll definitely get your money's worth. The restaurant is clean, employees are nice, and the ambience gives a Jamaican vibe. This is one of my favorites places to stop or order for food when I'm in the Bronx and ready to eat something good. I'm never disappointed."

"First time there last week and I spent almost $80 worth of food with my family and I ! Honestly, everything was flavorful.. but the rice was a little grainy(should’ve cooked a little longer) perhaps it was rushed?"
